Another example is the diode. A non-linear semiconductor device that allows for the flow of current in one direction. It is a two terminal device, those terminals being anode and cathode. There are various types of diodes, including PN Junction Diode, Light Emitting Diode (LED), Zener Diode, Schottky Diode, Photodiode, and DIAC. Transistors are another example of an electronic component. Transistors are Semiconductors that can be utilized to amplify electronic signals and switch electrical power. Instead of having two terminal devices, the transistors have 3 terminals that can be manipulated by a voltage controlled device or a device controlled by current.
