The Importance of Electronic Equipment Parts and Its Suppliers

The term electronic component is often used synonymously with “electric parts,” and while it can certainly be classified as such, the term does not encompass all electronic parts. Electronic Components actually refers to a basic element in electronics that has terminals that allow for it to connect to other components and develop different functional mechanisms.

Classes of Electrical Components

One example of a component is the common battery as it can connect to other electrical components. The fact that it is a source of power means that it is an active component. Passive components refer to something that cannot spark net energy into the circuit that they are attached to. We’ve already mentioned active and passive components, but there are also electromechanical components. An electromechanical component is a component that utilizes electrical signals to trigger some kind of mechanical change, such as a motor turning. These can typically use an electrical current to create a magnetic field that can cause a physical movement. Some examples of electromechanical equipment include optical telescope and radio telescope positioning mechanisms, boiler gas, steam and water controls, mechatronic equipment like robots, automated, distributed process controls like in a chemical process plant, unmanned off-shore plant and equipment.

Examples of Electronic Components

Some other examples of electronic components include the circuit board. A circuit board is a collection of components, each of which have their own sockets interconnecting with others. To emphasize just how important electronic components are, note that the circuit board acts like the brain of an electronic product, meaning that electronic components are absolutely essential to any electronic product. Another example is the diode. A non-linear semiconductor device that allows for the flow of current in one direction. It is a two terminal device, those terminals being anode and cathode. There are various types of diodes, including PN Junction Diode, Light Emitting Diode (LED), Zener Diode, Schottky Diode, Photodiode, and DIAC. Transistors are another example of an electronic component. Transistors are Semiconductors that can be utilized to amplify electronic signals and switch electrical power. Instead of having two terminal devices, the transistors have 3 terminals that can be manipulated by a voltage controlled device or a device controlled by current.

Electronic Components Suppliers

Some popular electronic component suppliers that retail and wholesalers will get their products from include Nippon Industries Co Ltd. Nippon is a US based company that manufactures and supplies all types of capacitors, resistive components, ceramic chips, SMD components, and more. RCD Components is another example of an electronics components supplier. US based, RCD is present in nearly all continents and focuses on both supplying and distributing SMD components, wire-wound resistors, carbon-film, inductive products, surface mounts, inductive products, capacitors, and more.
